Our Vision

All women and children in Sierra Leone will have access to effective essential healthcare services, characterised by respect and dignity for all, including patients, communities, and staff.

Focus Areas

Our work focuses on key areas critical to improving health outcomes: Neonatal and Child Health, ensuring newborns and young children receive life-saving care; Maternal Health, supporting safe pregnancies and childbirth; Community Health, empowering local communities with health education and access to services; Health System Strengthening, equipping healthcare facilities and professionals with the skills and resources they need; and Emergency Response, providing urgent medical support in times of crisis.

Trained thousands of healthcare workers across clinical, leadership, and quality improvement roles
Pioneered digital tools like the CRADLE VSA device, now integrated into national midwifery training and procurement lists
Supporting the establishment of Sierra Leone’s new Julius Maada Bio Paediatric Centre of Excellence
Supported the Ola During Children’s Hospital to reduce in-hospital child mortality rates from 18% to 9–12% (2017–2024)
Partnered in cutting-edge maternal and neonatal research with King’s College London
Led emergency health responses, including infection prevention during the Ebola outbreak
Embedded continuous training and mentoring systems at paediatric tertiary hospitals, reaching 900+ student nurses annually
